A doorway to authentic Islam – serving Abuja & the global Muslim community since 2000
Masjid As‑Sahabah (meaning “Mosque of the Companions”) was established in the heart of Maitama, Abuja, with a vision to revive the pristine teachings of Islam based on the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the understanding of the righteous predecessors (Salaf as-Ṣāliḥ).
What began as a small congregation in a residential building quickly grew into a vibrant Islamic centre. Today, Alhamdulillah, the masjid serves thousands of residents, diplomats, and workers in Abuja, offering daily prayers, Jumu’ah services, and a wide range of educational and social programs.
Our name honours the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, whose sacrifices and knowledge built the foundation of our faith. We strive to follow their path: balanced, compassionate, and firmly grounded in evidence.
We adhere to the Qur’an and Sunnah with the methodology of the Salaf, avoiding extremism and negligence.
Open to all nationalities, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Our community reflects the diversity of the Ummah.
From free iftar to marriage counselling, we exist to serve Muslims and non‑Muslims alike with compassion.
We consider seeking knowledge an obligation. Our eLearning programs and courses are accessible worldwide.
